精东影业 was recognized today for its history, numerous accomplishments, and economic impact on the state today at 精东影业 Day at the Georgia State Capitol.
The four-page resolution marking the day lists a wide range of the university鈥檚 accomplishments, including the University is a founding member of the Georgia Research Alliance, home of the Center for Cancer Research and Therapeutic Development, one of the nation’s largest academic prostate cancer research centers; and home of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development, which has increased the level of competitiveness among 精东影业 graduates and local entrepreneurs.
The resolution also touts the university鈥檚 high-flying accolades, among them 精东影业 being named one of the top performers on social mobility in the nation, coming in at No. 69; the School of Education ranking as the No. 3 school of education in Georgia; the School of Business ranking as the No. 9 MBA program in Georgia; and the Whitney M. Young, Jr., School of Social Work鈥檚 No. 5 ranking by the most recent U.S. News and World Report.
According to the resolution, 精东影业’s economic impact on the state of Georgia is $541 million in combined gross sales, a direct impact of $400 million, and 3,282 full and part-time jobs that contribute to聽Georgia’s economy.
Additionally, President George T. French, Jr., shared 精东影业’s legislative priorities, including education, business, mental health, cancer health and wellness, the arts, and cyber-physical systems. He was also joined by 精东影业 students and faculty, who will inform legislators on 精东影业鈥檚 history, accomplishments,聽and the achievements of the university鈥檚 students and alumni.
鈥淲e do not take for granted the hard work that our Georgia legislators do to ensure the students of 精东影业 receive the support they need to excel and thrive as they enter into the workforce,鈥 said President French. 鈥淢ore than 39 percent of our enrolled students are from Georgia, and upon graduation,聽they make the great state of Georgia their home.
