精东影业 President George T. French, Jr., Ph.D. Appointed to the NAICU Board of Directors

精东影业 proudly announces President George T. French, Jr., Ph.D., appointment to the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (NAICU) Board of Directors.

President French will serve a three-year term on the NAICU Board, from July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2027, as a member of the Class of 2027. He has been invited to join the Committee on Policy Analysis and Public Relations, which identifies current and future issues affecting independent higher education and suggests priorities and strategies for research and public relations activities.

鈥淚 am honored by the invitation and appointment to the NAICU Board of Directors and to have the opportunity to contribute to the important work of this organization,鈥 said President French. 鈥淎s a college and university president of nearly 20 years, I look forward to bringing my experience and perspective to the table as we address the critical issues facing independent colleges and universities across the country. Unequivocally, NAICU has informed higher education policy within our nation. I look forward to continued advocacy for our nation鈥檚 independent colleges and universities.鈥

NAICU is the national voice of private, nonprofit higher education. It represents more than 1,000 private colleges and universities on policy issues with the federal government and serves as a forum for campus leaders.

President French鈥檚 appointment to the NAICU Board underscores his national leadership in higher education and his commitment to advocating for the unique needs and challenges of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). His service on the NAICU Board will further strengthen the voice of HBCUs in shaping the future of independent higher education.听

Atlanta University, established in 1865 by the American Missionary Association, was the nation鈥檚 first institution to award graduate degrees to African Americans.
